We had a very busy Autumn term in the lead up to Christmas with lots of traditional events like our District Carol Service and some more modern ones like going to Inflatabounce! The Brownie’s highlight of the term was celebrating bonfire night with a camp fire and traditional camp songs as well as some lovely warm hot dogs and a hot chocolate with marshmallows – yum! Our thanks go to the parish council for giving us permission to undertake this activity.

This term we are working closely with St Ives Foodbank to support the amazing work they do in our community. Last week, we had a visit from one of the volunteers, who told us about the basic food and hygiene supplies that local families desperately need and how we can help. The Brownies were then set an exciting challenge - to do some fundraising of their own by doing ‘bob a job’ activities at home to earn some money for the charity. Then comes the fun part! The Brownies will go on a shopping trip to Morrisons where they will choose, buy and pack items for the foodbank using the money they have raised. As well as helping to support our local foodbank and do good in our local community, we hope that this will be a valuable life experience for our Brownies. We will update you in the next blog with how we got on.
