As we enjoy a well earned summer break, it seems like a good time to look back on all the fun we got up to last term.

Last term Needingworth Brownies took part in an exciting challenge called ‘Smashing Boundaries’, to encourage girls to take part in sports that are normally more associated with boys. So you may have spotted us on the field this summer taking part in lots of cricket related activities. One of the most entertaining activities was trying to playing cricket blindfolded or with specially adjusted glasses, to understand how the game is played and adapted for those with disabilities.

On our last meeting for the summer, the Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units got together to say a sad goodbye to Brown Owl, Alicia Holloway who had been the Brownie leader in Needingworth for an incredible 24 years! We celebrated by singing camp songs, playing parachute games and having a summer picnic with yummy cake.
Brown Owl will be greatly missed by the Leaders and Brownies, we hope she has a relaxing start to her retirement.
